1. Custom & Handmade Nature of Products

All items sold by Hearts Remembered by Melissa are custom-made, handcrafted keepsake jewelry. Due to the handmade process, no two pieces are exactly alike. Variations in color, texture, placement, and appearance are normal and are not considered defects.

By placing an order, the customer acknowledges and accepts the natural variations that occur in handcrafted keepsake jewelry.

2. Materials Provided by Customer

The customer voluntarily provides personal and sentimental materials, including but not limited to:

Ashes

Breast milk

Hair or fur

Fabric or cloth

Pregnancy-related materials

Other sentimental items

The customer confirms they are authorized to provide these materials and understands the emotional and personal nature of doing so.

3. Handling of Sentimental Materials

Hearts Remembered by Melissa agrees to handle all materials with care, respect, and professionalism. However, due to the nature of the crafting process, the customer acknowledges that once materials are incorporated into a keepsake, they cannot be removed or returned.

Any remaining material not used may be returned only if requested by the customer.

4. Risk Acknowledgment & Limitation of Liability

By submitting materials, the customer understands and agrees that:

Sentimental materials are irreplaceable

There is an inherent risk when mailing and working with physical materials

Hearts Remembered by Melissa is not responsible for loss or damage during shipping to or from the business

Liability is strictly limited to the amount paid for the jewelry piece only

Under no circumstances shall Hearts Remembered by Melissa be liable for emotional distress, loss of sentimental value, or consequential damages.

5. Shipping Responsibility

The customer is responsible for:

Properly packaging materials

Using a tracked shipping method

Retaining shipping receipts and tracking numbers

Hearts Remembered by Melissa is not responsible for delays, loss, or damage caused by postal carriers.

6. Turnaround Time

Turnaround time is estimated at 4–6 weeks, not including shipping. This timeframe is an estimate and not a guarantee. Delays may occur due to curing times, material conditions, or unforeseen circumstances.

7. No Returns, Refunds, or Exchanges

Due to the custom and personal nature of keepsake jewelry:

All sales are final

No returns, refunds, or exchanges are accepted

If there is an issue related to workmanship, the customer must contact Hearts Remembered by Melissa within 7 days of delivery.

8. Add-Ons & Custom Requests

Add-ons such as shimmer, flakes, color requests, and placement preferences are honored to the best of the artist’s ability. However, the final appearance may vary, and custom requests are not guaranteed.

9. Medical & Health Disclaimer (Breast Milk Jewelry)

Keepsake jewelry made with breast milk is not intended for consumption or medical use. Hearts Remembered by Melissa makes no medical, health, or therapeutic claims regarding these items.

10. Care Instructions & Wear

Customers acknowledge that improper care (exposure to water, chemicals, perfumes, or impact) may damage jewelry. Normal wear and tear is not covered under any warranty.

11. Right to Refuse Service

Hearts Remembered by Melissa reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order at its discretion, including but not limited to inappropriate requests, insufficient materials, or violations of these terms.

12. Agreement & Acceptance

By placing an order, the customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to all terms and conditions outlined above.
